Our creative library staff brewed up some Halloween fun, with spooky craft activities, pipe cleaner spider making and a chance to guess how many eyeballs were lurking in the jar! ๐๐ท๏ธ
Even some of our teaching staff got into the spooky spirit, dressing up on Friday to bring a little Halloween magic to their classrooms.

Creativity, a lot of heart, and plenty of colourful knits! ๐
The Gilmore Classroom Knitters Club kicked off early last term when the wonderful team from @๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฒฬ ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ generously offered to run crochet and knitting sessions at the college, giving students a new way to connect and learn something new beyond the classroom โจ.
Some students already knew their way around a pair of knitting needles, while others joined out of curiosity and a desire to learn a new craft. From traditional hand knitting to loom knitting, everyone has been busy learning, creating and having fun along the way.
๐๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ด๐ถ๐ญ๐ต๐ด? Dozens of colourful beanies and fiddle squares ๐๐ธ๐๐งก that will soon become part of a blanket, all made with love and destined for patients at Perth Childrenโs Hospital. โค๏ธ Double the reward!

We had the pleasure of welcoming Noongar artist Melissa Spillman, founder of Maarakool Art, to Gilmore College last week for a special Artist in Residence project, which will culminate in a unique artwork celebrating our college, culture and connection to the Kwinana community.
Over three days, Mel worked alongside our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, encouraging them to share their stories, experiences and perspectives through art. The students created beautiful, meaningful paintings that will help inspire Melโs final piece.

First week of the last term of the year is done! And the smiles around the college have been just as bright as this Fridayโs sunshine. โ๏ธ
Friends catching up after a few weeks apart, teachers welcoming their classes and students settling straight back into learning, and everyone returning to their favourite spots for recess and lunch โ thatโs what Week 1 has been all about: ๐ง๐ช๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณ ๐ณ๐ฉ๐บ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐ข๐จ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐จ๐ฆ๐ต๐ต๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฃ๐ข๐ค๐ฌ ๐ช๐ฏ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ด๐ค๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ญ ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ต๐ช๐ฏ๐ฆ. ๐๐
The final stretch of the year is looking very promising, with new content to explore, progress to make, skills to strengthen and learning to put to the test. Term 4 starts tomorrow, but weโre still feeling a little teary as we look back on our Year 12sโ final day of school at the end of Term 3.
It was a special day for our entire school community, and an especially meaningful one for our graduating class, who said goodbye to school with a mix of nostalgia, excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead.

Hundreds of students have been cashing in their well-earned ๐๐ถ๐น๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฑ at our PBS Pop-Up Shop this week!
Earned throughout the term for positive Compass chronicle entries, students exchanged their tokens for a range of rewards, including some tasty treats, sports equipment, LEGO sets and more. ๐๐ซ
The PBS Pop-Up Shop is fast becoming a favourite end-of-term reward, recognising students for the positive choices they make throughout the term.

Camaraderie, friendly rivalry and plenty of House spirit were the takeaways from Gilmore College's recent Athletics Carnival.
Throughout this fantastic day of sport and competition, students had the chance to showcase skills beyond the classroom, with plenty of encouragement, teamwork and school spirit along the way.
Whether on or off the track, students demonstrated our SOAR values๐ to the highest standards, cheering on and celebrating their peers.

What a wonderful evening of music, creativity and celebration at our recent Music Night!
Years 10โ12 students shared an impressive variety of performances, from instrumental pieces to vocal performances, showcasing the dedication, confidence and skills they have been developing.
It was fantastic to see our students step into the spotlight, support one another and share something they have worked hard to achieve. ๐๐ต

For this yearโs NAIDOC Week, we did things a little differently! ๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐๐๐ถ๐ป ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ก๐๐๐๐ข๐ ๐ช๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ธ ๐ต๐ผ๐๐๐, taking us along for a look at the celebrations and activities happening across Gilmore College.
Along the way, they chatted with students and staff about what they were looking forward to and what โ๐ฑ๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐น๐โ means to them.
From our whole-school assembly and a visit from inspiring guest speaker ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐จ๐ด๐น๐ฒ, to quizzes, kangaroo stew and damper, and the much-anticipated NAIDOC Week footy game, it was a busy week celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and achievements.
