At Gilmore College our moral purpose is to ‘transform positive relationships into meeting the unique learning potential of every student’. With our Moral Purpose in mind, Gilmore College strives to create an inclusive environment that caters for the needs of the individual.
An integral part of our Student Services facilities is the Well-Being hub, located at the canteen side entrance to the administration building. This space houses the office of the School Psychology Services as well as the school Chaplain and one of our four Youth Officers.
The Well-Being Hub provides a quiet and calm location for speaking to support staff around anxiety or mental health issues preventing student’s from achieving their potential.
In today’s world it is all too common for students to be suffering silently with emotional/social issues impacting their relationships at school and at home. The well-being hub is a source of support and guidance for students in how to navigate their own personal circumstances. It is a facility to assist students with the ‘how’ to develop true resilience strategies to overcome barriers to effective relationships in the wider world and assist them to achieve their best at school.
Students can self-refer to the staff in the well-being hub by having discussion with the relevant Year Manager. It is not a drop-in centre for students to self-select in lieu of attending classes, or on an ad hoc basis. Student referrals are triaged to provide the most relevant service to meet their needs and the well-being hub is just one of the many services available to support or case manage students that might be worked through.
If you think your child might need help in any of these areas, please contact and speak to our friendly Student Services Team.
